I began studying botanical illustration in 2014 under  Leigh Ann Gale and continue to receive tutoring from Leigh Ann.  In 2018 I enrolled on the  Diploma in Botanical Illustration with the Chelsea School of Botanical Art at the Chelsea Physic Garden, tutored by Helen Allen, graduating in 2020 with distinction.

I particularly enjoy the scientific aspects of botanical illustration. My final diploma project was a collaboration with City Commons entitled “A Year on the Commons”  – a study of  the chalk flowers growing on the Coulsdon Commons.  The project consisted of sketchbook studies including field studies, 6 final plates showing the habit and botanical enlargements/dissections, and a printed field guide. The finished botanical plates can be purchased as cards.

As well as watercolour, I work in graphite and in pen and ink.
